"Goldie"

I was first introduced to Goldie's sound in 1998. He had been producing for years prior to me purchasing his album Saturnz Return.I quickly found his sound dark and addicting (to much my friends contempt during long car rides). Goldie brought drum and bass, a genre of music which derives from reggae and hip-hop, to a worldwide audience. His music continues to be an inspiration to both myself and the work I create.

After several calls to my internet provider I am finally back online. The finished illustration above is of a very influential/experimental DJ known as That Subliminal Kid or DJ Spooky.

A finished illustration of DJ Cam. I am focusing on techniques I've learned from printmaking and trying to apply them digitally. The only problem with this is that I need to develop my own texture library. A week of scanning and taking pictures is in order. Check back soon.

Lost Plates

So, the computer is a great tool for art but sometimes it can be a little consuming (of the soul maybe?). I went through my collection of prints today and came across these two pronto-plates--which I enjoyed revisiting--to try and convince myself to get back into printmaking (and combine it with other medias I enjoy). A recent discussion with a friend confirmed that I have not found a voice with the mediums I enjoy using. An amalgamation is on it's way...I can feel it.
